Nourish Character. Inspire Potential.
Enrich your life by helping others. When you serve with AmeriCorps, you join a network of people and organizations dedicated to strengthening communities.
As an organization, we are mindful of our own, our members, and their families’ social-emotional well-being and overall mental health. Supporting young people’s social and emotional development is an essential part of our work. Improved academic performance, lower emotional distress, decreased behavior problems, and increases in positive attitudes toward both school and pro-social behavior are all advantages of providing members with opportunities to learn and practice social-emotional skills. As staff, we are here to work with our members’ families, local schools, and support agencies to improve their social and emotional well-being.
BGCDT’s SEL Team follows a three-tiered approach to providing services.
