BGCDT had a very exciting day as our very own Parkview site played host to State Senator Cristina Castro! Senator Castro is a second-generation Mexican-American who has been involved in making a difference in her community since she was a young girl. She also currently serves on multiple committees such as Appropriations I, Commerce and Economic Development, Energy, Labor, Revenue, Transportation, and is the Chair of Veterans Affairs Committee.
Senator Castor was given a tour of Parkview by two of our junior leaders. Our Board President Mark Krueger kicked the afternoon off by giving the Senator a brief overview of BGCDT and our mission. Our junior leaders then showed Senator Castro different locations of our site and what programs are ran. The tour wrapped up with a group photo and the Senator receiving wonderful artwork made by our members. A big thanks to Senator Castro for coming to Parkview, learning about what we do and checking out some of the programs we offer at Club.
