Clay hands is a program that Jesus at the Golfview site came up with this year. He wanted to do an art program that was a little different than the arts and crafts program we currently have. We were excited to see the outcome. The site started off with a small group of twelve 4th graders. Throughout the 5 week course the kids got to learn about the color palette, the difference between a shade, shadows and tint, and how mixing certain colors would give a whole new color. They also got to make their own animal out of clay. Some of the kids even made a snowman! At the end of the 5 weeks, the kids made the different habitats for each animal they made. We are excited for the next group as they will be making musical instruments out of clay. Stay tuned to see how they turn out next month!
