Member Testimonials from the goIT program
“Being a part of goIT has really shown me how much I didn’t know about coding, but also surprised me because it showed me I could do it and that I could accomplish creating this app.”
-Adriano T., 6th grade, CMS Member
“This program has helped me become more confident in myself. I was surprised about what I was able to develop during goIT.”

BGCDT is excited to announce that we have partnered with Tata Consultancy Services and Nielsen volunteers to bring a flagship STEM education program goIT to our Middle School Members!
Our middle school members have the unique opportunity to participate in this educational program with modules such as understanding computer science, design thinking, problem-solving, storyboarding, and creating a prototype of their very own app! Members join groups to create their app to better their community. When members are done creating their prototype and app, they then pitched it to goIT judges. Our young innovators have been learning about computer science and design thinking in order to ideate mobile apps that align with the SDG3 – Good health and Well-Being. Members were challenged with creating a goal around this month’s challenge, SDG3 – Good Health and Well-being.
On Saturday, October 3rd students participated in an entrepreneurial pitch challenge, where they pitched their apps to a panel of judges for the title goIT champion.

Congratulations to The Joshi’s Team, 1st place winners, for their winning app Meal Me (Pictured Left to Right: Julian, Mathew, Gamaliel, and Leonardo)

A big thank you to Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi for making a virtual appearance during our program wrap up. Raja congratulated members on their amazing app ideas and discussed how important computer science is for the future. All group projects are being submitted to the goIT monthly challenge as well as The Congressional App Challenge. To watch the group’s pitch videos please click below.
BGCDT is proud to be providing such an amazing program to our members. The program will continue on with our Impact Center Members in the near future.
