This summer the Dundee Highlands site has continued their crochet program. The program is run by Debbe who has many years of experience in crochet. Crochet is not only therapeutic, but it also helps in reading and dexterity. The members are learning different stitching patterns and weaving. Some of the stitching techniques that they have learned are the half double and the magic circle.
The members just finished creating reusable water balloons out of yarn. This fun project is eco friendly. It not only keeps costs down, but you don’t have to clean up the plastic when you are done. This project has really helped the kids learn new stitching techniques, and it requires a lot of them! The members seem to really be enjoying this program. We look forward to seeing upcoming Crochet projects from this program!
