The Boys & Girls Clubs of Dundee Township recently hosted both the 1st & 2nd place teams (First STEP & MALEBOX) from the Dundee Crown High School INCubator Program. The INCubator Program is a business course offered at Dundee Crown High School that allows students to develop a new business concept, led by a local community business leader, in an effort to earn actual start-up revenue from local investors.
This year, the winning team was First STEP, a business concept that involved taking food waste and composting the waste into healthy compost for the Earth. First STEP recently took home 1st place at the INCubator National Summit, held at Loyola University.
The team members from both First STEP and MALEBOX (an idea that involves sending care packages to male college students), volunteered at both the Parkview & Golfview Elementary Club Units, as part of the Philanthropy aspect of the INCubator program. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Dundee Township is proud to be the non-profit partner of the INCubator program, bringing our high school students into the Elementary Club Units for hands-on volunteer activities that benefit everyone involved.
Congratulations to all our INCubator high school students, led by DCHS Business Teachers Nicholas Pahl and Sara Burnett, for a wonderful partnership opportunity for our Club members.
