S-P-E-L-L-I-N-G  B-E-E  Spelling Bee! That’s right! The BGCDT hosted their spelling bee, and a big congratulations to the following winners: Alexander, Max and Yaneli, Liz and Christian.

It was held at the Dundee Township Park District Adult Activity Center. The competition was for grades 1st-5th and boy did these kids work hard! It takes a lot of practice and dedication to be able to participate in the spelling bee. We are proud of each and every one of the members. The sites that participated were Sunny Hill, Golfview, Lakewood, Meadowdale Perry, and Parkview.

Each site had one child for each grade.

If you have never been to a spelling bee here are some of the strict rules these kids have to follow during the competition. The speller must pronounce the word, spell the word, and then pronounce the word again. If the speller starts to spell a word they may stop and start over, but cannot change the letters they used from the first attempt. Sounds intense right?! These kids however spelled like pros and each one of them did a fantastic job! Once again congratulations to our winners!!! We would also like to thank everyone who participated and volunteered to help make this event possible!
